Good Shepherd...

I love this image.  The picture was taken inside the First Methodist Church in Bastrop,Texas, a small town near the state capital of Austin.  The church has been in existence for 175 years, which dates it back to the days of the Republic of Texas.  The actual building in which the window is placed is the second of their sanctuaries, the first having burned to the ground.  All of the Italian stained glass windows were saved from the fire.

The Good Shepherd.  How could one not be touched by the concept that there is One with us who cares enough to find us and bring us back into His arms when the world, or our own noses, have led us off-track.  There is the gentleness, and yet the setting of limits - the strength, the ever-watchful eyes, the non-judgmental all-encompassing knowledge of who we are and how we are most likely to get lost.  For all the trouble we may go to to lose ourselves, there is One who is there to be ecstatic to find us.

Just a few musings for a Sunday morning - being thankful for the Shepherd.
