Lazy because I. in fact, did not go to church this morning. However, this was not altogether lazy because my reasoning was that the turkey, which was not thawed in time to cook for Thanksgiving, was now in need of being tossed in the oven with the requisite sliced onions inside to be baked for the likely 3 hour time period. All of this so that when I leave to take Alli back to school, she can have a bit of the holiday to take with her. After all, I did make an individual-sized green bean casserole for niece Erin to take back to Austin. Alli also needs to be Boodle-Bag equipped!
The brain has been in overload. Picked up Alli Tuesday. Worked Wednesday. Shopping with Alli on Wednesday night. Lunch at Clarewood Thursday. Cooking Thursday afternoon. A visit from sister and family on Friday. Work on Friday night for Candlelight Tours. Impromptu trip to closing weekend of RenFest with Clint on Saturday, with a belated birthday burger at Southwell's for Stephen on Saturday night. And here we are at Sunday, with a drive back to San Marcos this afternoon. A seamless holiday in so many ways, with many great stories to tell, and much for which to be thankful.
And now we face the Advent season, and the challenge of keeping it a peaceful one with our hearts focused on the coming of Christ.
Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You’ve been promised, we’ve been waiting
Welcome Holy Child
Welcome Holy Child
Bring your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
Word now breaking Heaven’s silence
Welcome to our world
Welcome to our world

I had a wonderful, albeit (is that the correct spelling?) hectic holiday. I still need to come by the house to sneak away some leftover Thanksgiving treats :) To all who have read this particualr post, you must know that the green bean casserole mentioned earlier may be the single tastiest creation known to man..at least so says me. Mom, you do so much to make things work, and I am always impressed. My scaled-down version of a daily grind has far fewer factors in it, and, even still, I find myself overwhelmed and spinning. How do you do it?? PS...green bean casserole rocks...just in case you didnt know ;)
