Hello...?

Went to see a special preview of a wonnnnnderful movie last night. It was a "word of mouth" preview, meaning that we were to go out and spread the word about how fabulous it was, but that "they" didn't want reporters or bloggers to publish critiques prematurely. Hmmm. A little nebulous on the instructions, so not wanting to get anyone in trouble, I will restrict my blog comments.
Interesting little side note: When one of the main characters starts blogging, she questions early on whether anyone out in cyberspace is actually reading what she is writing. Not that it matters, because she is essentially doing it as a project to help her focus and complete something in her own life, but I think it is perhaps something every blogger feels at some point. Even if we are only writing to relieve the thoughts bouncing around in our heads, is it at all of interest to anyone, or is it just evaporating into the air?

  3. I went to see a free preview tonight - I enjoyed it and need to go out and buy butter.

Have you read the book? It's different to the movie, there's less about Julia in it and a lot more of Julie. In the book Julie is changed more by her cooking, at the start she's a lot more whiney than in the movie, it takes a while to warm up to her. The thing that helps you connect is the wittyness of her blog posts, something I wished they'd used a bit more of in the in the film.

Anyway, it was great, a different great to the book, but still great :)
