A Miracle Reunion...

Sunday was a long awaited day - the "Cone Connection" family reunion which Granny-Mama-Bert spearheaded and nursed to fruition. It grew out of an amazing sequence of events that brought cousins and nieces, parents and grandparents into close enough proximity on one weekend to make the dream become a possibility. It took dedication on everyone's part to make it a reality, with many driving in from some distance and some dropping by on the way to somewhere else, but I think it meant a lot for us all to see each other as we are after these many years. I know a certain 93-year-old Granny Lady to whom it meant a great deal.
We sang, listened, watched, shared history and pictures, celebrated those who have gone on before, and delighted in the energy and curiosity of the one-year-old youngest member of the clan (Sweet Mr. Benjamin).
The staff at Clarewood set up a delicious feast and all ate well. The cameras snapped candids all around, and before too many people made their escapes, we put groups together for more. Hundreds of pictures - thank goodness for digital cameras and their storage capabilities.
To all who came, blessings on you for finding your way to Houston on July 26, 2009.
And..."Blest be the tie that binds...we shall still be joined in heart and hope to meet again."
