I just finished looking at my YouTube "Insight" for the week. For those who question, "What is that?", I say it is YouTube's way of tracking all sorts of statistics regarding the number of times your posted video has been viewed. Now, my two little contributions are hardly drawing any great crowds. I was curious at first to watch for numbers, but that soon faded into tracking the countries in which people were watching.
Here comes the fun. The summary shows a map of the world. The areas highlighted in the darkest green represent where the most views have occurred during a given time. So, logically, my two little slideshows with music started out in the USA. But I have one dear friend in England, so I started seeing some color across the sea. Then, low and behold, I started seeing some green in the Netherlands and Germany, then France, and now we have crossed back over the Atlantic, and the green is appearing in Canada.
Now, mind you, we are talking about miniscule numbers of people in comparison to the numbers who regularly frequent the YouTube site, but it is fun to wonder how the connections are being made. In the meantime, I may just have to post another song, just to see where that might lead.
