Yum!

By popular demand...the recipe for Leche Quemada.

Ingredients:

2 cups pieces of pecans
1 stick of margarine plus 1 Tbsp.
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk

First, roast the pecans. Spread them evenly on a microwave-safe plate. Cook on High for 2 minutes (700 watt oven). Stir thoroughly, then cook for 2 more minutes. Stir. Cook last 2 minutes. Stir a few times afterwards to keep from burning with latent heat.

Melt margarine in a 2 quart microwave-safe bowl. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar. Cook for 7 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes. When the sugar starts to have a grainy texture and is golden brown to toasty brown in color, add pecans and stir thoroughly. Pour immediately into an 8" square dish. Chill, and then cut into squares.

Enjoy!
