Yesterday, for the first time in months, we enjoyed a substantial amount of rain! Yay rain! Hard to imagine that idea, but we so desperately needed it that driving in it, rearranging plans for it, getting wet in it, and so on and so forth were truly welcome experiences.
It has been so painful to see everything turn brown - grass is one thing, but massive trees withering to a burnt color in the midst of green...a not-so-subtle reminder of how little we control we truly have over our world.
However, today, all has been washed clean of the dust, and all the leaves have "perked up" to a living state. Not the dead trees, but we can certainly be grateful for a reprieve for the rest of the horticultural world. Oooh. Big word.
Just around the corner? Mold.
