Don't they know...

"Don't those trees know they were supposed to do that a couple of months ago?" he said with  a grin, while looking out on this early morning scene.  Yes, this is the view out of my living room window in the "treehouse", and the colors were just that electric.  And, well, the poor trees in our little part of the world just have to live in a state of perpetual confusion.

The orange and red are part of a maple tree's celebration of cooler weather, and the bright yellow at the bottom is some sort of rampant vine that I'm sure the homeowner has just given up on trying to curb.  The effect from our side of the parking lot has been somewhat stunning, however, and I laugh because right about the time that all of those leaves fall off, the weather will surely start to warm up and spring will start bursting out everywhere.

But of course, the trees know exactly what they are doing.  They are responding to the stimuli, and growing in spite of it all.  I know my fair share of human beings who have not heeded the expected "timelines", but have grown through different paths and experiences.  And they are likely to be as "colorful" as the subject above!
