Forever Young.
Seems that that is how we picture heros/heroines from our "growing up" days. They never age. Their voices, performances, and personna are etched in our memories from the time we fall in love with them. It's easy to forget that they are human beings, with frailties, who age along with the rest of us.
Mary Travers was part of the trio, Peter, Paul and Mary - folksingers and more, par excellance of the 60s and 70s. They grew with the times, and even after the times when they were most popular. They took up new causes, had families of their own, continued to write songs and be involved in their world.
Mary had a rich, cello of a voice, with pathos, and with fun when it was called for. She wrote poetry and loved people, and those of us who loved her music are very grateful for the time and talents she shared with us.

I am going to check into some Peter, Paul, and Mary. I started trying to learn some tunes on the Mandolin too. Not directly related, but both are "folkie" so close enough haha.
