No more Grinch...

We have banished the Grinch to the top of his very high snowy mountain.

The Yuletide Open House season is done for the year, capped off by an enormous freeFamilyDay last Sunday when we had over 1,200 guests. Except for putting out a few inevitable fires, the work week has been quiet, and tomorrow is our first of 4 days off. Seems impossible.

The wait, the anticipation. Almost palpable. A mini-meltdown here and there because no matter how simple you want things to be, they never quite are because there are just too many variables. There are always nebulous expectations out there. Even though for me it all boils down to wanting to have some peaceful time with my faith and my family, making that happen is sometimes more difficult than it would seem. However, we will forge ahead!

That reminds me...We have not made leche quemada yet, and that could be a serious problem.
Must locate pecans, sweetened condensed milk, butter, brown sugar and vanilla in mass quantities! HO, HO, HO!
