This morning was spent looking around various office spaces, and trying to determine how to best pack everything for the move to the new visitors' center. Oh my! This is going to be a project that will, most likely, drive me over the edge in wanting to clear out my own house.
I'm teetering on the edge of backing up a dump truck into the driveway anyway.
There are many, many files to be dealt with either by archiving them, which means keeping a detailed list of contents and removing staples, etc., or by tossing them, which means determining what will be important for a person who is not on board yet. And then there are the random books which must be handled, random supplies that may never be needed again, random collections of slides and scripts, random ad infinitum.
Nothing makes one want to live a minimalist life more than having to make seemingly infinite decisions about what should stay and what should go. I think that's especially true of anyone who has ever been an educator. There is always the idea that this might come in handy, or that someone might be able to use this, or this is a perfectly good thing that should not be thrown away in a landfill. Recycling comes to mind on so many levels, which creates another project entirely.
One cabinet at a time. One cabinet at a time.
