I started to work at Bayou Bend. I was just reminded of this by our director, and of course, this set the brain in motion. Summers tend to be a bit slower - except for History Camp and the July 4th Celebration. There is a bit of time to catch up on all those little things that kept getting pushed down the "to do" list. Everyone knows that I mean the details that aren't going to make the world come crashing down if they are not addressed.
I remember being told 3 years ago that I would be given a good part of the first couple of weeks to go through files and get familiar with things. I was so lost, so clueless about so much. I didn't even begin to guess what anything was. I had made the jump to HyperSpace, and was pedaling as fast as I could.
I confess to still be pedaling, but that is a good thing. Challenges here and there, knowing enough to be able to think ahead, and being acquainted with the programming flow here - all of these make for a built-in continuing education course. No college credits given, but plenty of satisfaction in learning a bit of something new every day.
