Stone soup...

Have you ever heard the story of stone soup?  If not, you may want to Google it.  Everyone should know the story of stone soup.  It's a classic just like Mother Goose,  Hans Christian Anderson, and the like.  Less scary than some fairy tales.  And somewhat more posssible in real life than the every day Disney tale.  Most often, a generalized referral to "stone soup" would mean that each member of a community brings a contribution to the shared pot.  Well today is stone soup day at my house, but that doesn't mean that the neighbors are knocking on the door, bringing me their stray veggies.  No, today the contents of the soup pot are coming from various leftover "family"-sized  bags of frozen mixed veggies, 1/2 bag of raw baby carrots, 4 small white onions, 1/2 bag of baby sweet peppers and, last but not least, the last of the pre-cooked mesquite-smoked grilled chicken.  Now add to that 2 bouillon cubes and a couple of lobs of zesty nacho cheese dip, and voila!  A huge pot of yumminess that cleans out the freezer and perishables so there is less to move on Friday.
Yes, there was a method to the madness.  And now, to go get a second bowl of this delicacy...
